Janko Tipsarevic has found the right way for tennis to “continue to live” in the age of viruses, when the entire season has been suspended. He started and successfully performed the Eastern European Championship in Belgrade for one week, on the courts of the Tipsarević Academy.

The plan is for the tournament to last a total of six weeks.

He admitted that it is an ambitious project, which he started thinking about after the cancellation of the masters in Indian Wells, at the beginning of March.

“Our partners from China, with whom Akadamija Tipsarevic cooperates, warned us that the situation with the coronavirus is serious, that it is only a question of when it will come to Europe. We wanted to find a way to keep tennis alive,” Janko Tipsarevic said at a press conference in Belgrade.
