About 50 kilometers south from Belgrade is one of the most beautiful and peaceful mountains – Kosmaj. At an altitude of 626 meters, Kosmaj is one of the mountains ideal for family trips and weekend tours.

The protective symbol of Kosmaj is a monument erected by fallen soldiers in World War II, the work of architect Bogdan Bogdanovic. When Kosmaj sees from afar, is arms that protrude above tree circles dominate the panorama. The monument was erected in 1971 as a remembrance of the casualties and struggles of the Kosmaj-Posavina Partisan Detachment, and at that time represented a major artistic departure from previous works that tended to favor him with socialism. The monument is a kind of recognition of the Kosmaj region and the whole of Sumadija, with its arms symbolizing the libertarian spark.
