Lake Skadar is located in the Zeta-Skadar plain and partly belongs to Bar and the other to Podgorica municipality. Picturesque and in many ways unique, it is the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula with 391 km2. It is located only twenty minutes by car from the Adriatic Sea, through the almost built Sozina tunnel. With the Bojan River, Skadar Lake retains contact with the Adriatic, despite the chain of high mountains that surround it. 2/3 of Skadar Lake belongs to Montenegro, while 1/3 is in the territory of the Republic of Albania.
