Teams from six European countries at a training camp organized by the Taekwondo Association of Serbia, and under the expert guidance of Dragan Jovic, the world’s best coach in the selection of the World Tekvondo Federation, are preparing for the largest planetary sports competition, the Tokyo Olympics.
Taekwondo players from Belgium, Germany, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Austria and the host of Serbia today, accompanied by Dejan Burcul, President of the TAS, also visited Bozidar Maljkovic, President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia.

  • I welcome this idea, a quality sparring partner gives you the opportunity to learn from someone, to take what is best, what you do not have. Belgrade is an open hearted city, a developing city. My heart is full when I see all these athletes. Gale, Milica and Tijana work extraordinarily, which is why I chose Milica as Vice President. To all those who have not achieved the Olympic norm, I want them to do so as soon as possible and see you in Tokyo. We at the Olympic Committee know how when you play under pressure, look at basketball players in China. It is up to us to provide them with good conditions, sparring partners. We will not compare ourselves to others, we have never done that. But we will do our best – said Božidar Maljković, President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia.
Dejan Burchul, president of the Tekvondo Association of Serbia, did not hide his satisfaction with the results achieved last year, which is also the best announcement for the 2020 Olympics.
  • We are grateful to Mr. Maljkovic for visiting us, this is a normal day in Taekwondo, all the coaches are here. Unfortunately, we are missing a few more of our competitors, but that is why we have competitors from seven other countries and they have chosen Serbia as a starting point in the preparations for the qualifications for the Olympics. It is significant that our competitors met everyone here today, because they are all potential participants in the Olympics. We also hope that the guys will fight, as will Milica and Tijana, because it is a great competition. Milica and Tijana are already a great success for us, because in Taekwondo it was really difficult to qualify for the Olympic Games – said Dejan Burcul.
