Serbian women’s volleyball players landed in Belgrade and headed to the famous balcony from Nikola Tesla Airport.
Although the weather in Belgrade is bad, several thousand people came to greet world and European champions as well as Olympic vice-champions.
Each of them was greeted by a cry: “Serbia, Serbia”! Katarina Lazovic, Mina Popovic, Sladjana Mirkovic, Brankica Mihajlovic, Maja Ognjenovic, Stefana Veljkovic, Teodora Pusic, Ana Bjelica, Bianka Busa, Maja Aleksic, Silvija Popovic, Bojana Milenkovic, Jelena Blagojevic and Tijana Boskovic appeared in the row. The highest applause beside Boskovic was won by the team selector – Zoran Terzic.
Everyone sing the national anthem together! It was emotional and then the champions addressed the fans.
- Thanks for coming. I hope that next year we will all be here again to celebrate Olympic gold – said Stefana Veljkovic.
Tijana Boskovic, the best volleyball player of the championship, addressed the audience.
- I am very glad that for the third year in a row we can be with you. Your support was an additional motive for us to be even stronger!
Tiana’s speech was interrupted by shouts: “MVP, MVP”!
